The first two games in this series were epic. They required the player to think on his feet and plan things out. The closest thing I can think of today is the Dead Rising Series and even that is a lot more lenient. This game and it's immediate sequel were unforgiving. For God's sakes, you had to use a limited supply of consumable items to save, and the game got harder every time you saved! But, this is one of the few times I can think of when a challenge made a game more enjoyable. Man, I love Resident Evil.
